| Bio: | Basics: Full name: Severus Tobias Snape Nicknames: The Half-Blood Prince (self given as a teenager and almost unknown to others), was also once called Sev (by Lily Evans only) and Snivellus (by James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and anyone else they managed to get the name to catch on with) Date of Birth: January 9, 1960 Date and cause of Death: May 1998, snake bite Hometown: New Mills, Derbyshire, England House: Slytherin Wand: his 8", black alder with Runespoor fang core wand he'd used since childhood was damaged during the first war. He now uses a 9", yew with Chimaera scale core wand... which is oddly unnecessary in death... though he uses it stubbornly anyway. Bloodline: Half-blood Parents: Eileen Ignatia Snape (nee Prince) and Tobias ("Toby") Edward Snape (muggle) Siblings: Griselda Eileen Snape, younger sister (miscarried in 1965) Positions: Death Eater from late 1976-present with no legitimate job until 1981, Order of the Phoenix member from late 1981-spring 1997, Potions Master at Hogwarts from fall 1981-spring 1996, Defense against the Dark Arts professor from fall 1996-spring 1997, Hogwarts' Headmaster from fall 1997-spring 1998, dead from spring 1998-present. Specifics: Patronus: Doe, unknown to the DE and Order alike, with the exception of Dumbledore Appearance: Lank, greasy, black hair that hangs to his shoulders, black eyes, crooked teeth and a large, hooked nose. Severus is small for a man, standing at only 5'8" and weighing in under the healthy minimum for his height. He takes very little care with his appearance, possibly due to clinical depression he's suffered since he was young. He bears two large, silvery scars on the right side of his neck from Nagini's fangs, a faint discoloration on his left arm (amazingly paler than his natural skin tone, almost blueish) in the general shape that the mark had once been in, various small scars on his hands from cuts and burns acquired while brewing, and a few other scars scattered over his body from battles fought. Friends: None. Enemies: Sexuality: Exclusively homosexual. Love Interests: Lily Evans (emotionally, though he was sexually confused enough to think it could have been more as a teen) Likes: Intelligence and wit, power, self-preservation, and a dark sense of humor. Severus still has an unnatural fondness for Dark Arts, and enjoys scotch and elf-made wine, drinking medicinally to numb a depression he's suffered since his childhood. Dislikes: teaching, students, Harry and James Potter, Sirius Black, Tonks, most of his peers and subordinates within the Order and the DE, most PEOPLE in general, ignorance, having to repeat himself, Dumbledore (with whom he shared a complicated like/hate relationship), Lord Voldemort, himself. Talents: Potions, Dark Arts, Occlumency and Leglimency, invention (of hexes, curses, and potions), dueling. Flaws: Sarcasm and a cruel sense of humor coupled with a lack of conscience when it comes to who he hurts with it, an inability to let go of the past (the good, and most especially the bad). He's an exceptional liar and very difficult to read properly, emotionally closed off, yet with a very short fuse when it comes to his temper. He loves deeply, but fears that part of himself because of the pain it has caused him and those he's loved, due to the position the war put him in. Residence: A home on the rocky cliffs that line the stormier part of the sea. Occupation: Owner of Prince's Plume, an apothecary on the outskirts of the city, the seedier side of town where the only people that would dare come are the people who are serious enough about brewing to not waste his time... and also just because he likes knowing he knows his trade well enough that people go out of their way for his expertise. He grudgingly works the front of the shop for now, but he's looking for someone he trusts to take the job... and also looking for a supplier, as the climate around his home is not suitable for growing much of his own herbs and ingredients.
